What we are looking for.
The ambition of the PFM group is to become the best in class in what we do. The current projects are rapidly growing in size and volumes. PFM UK beholds 3 opco’s and 65 fte. Since early 2021 Coretech Ltd is part of the PFM group and ever since integrations of business and financial household are ongoing. The recent ERP launch is a strong location based accounting tool enabling all required automations and possible efficiency upgrades for smart accounting procedures. Besides cost control, margin analyses, cashflow statements and consolidation reports, we will challenge you developing and designing our desired business models. What does this mean for our cashflow? How can sales minimize risks, and how does this affect gross margin? If you have experience in SaaS & PaaS business models, governance and accounting we believe you have a strong benefit to bring.

The position

Within PFM UK the Business Controller will be the financial conscience of the company. You have to assist the Board of Directors in reaching the company’s financial goals; in terms of sales, gross profit, cash flow and working capital but also in terms of market share and investigating new business models and perhaps integrate other business as the PFM group is executing a so called buy & build strategy. Therefore, the business controller has an important position in managing and growing the business.

Hierarchically the Business Controller reports to the Managing Director of PFM UK and functionally to the CFO of PFM Group. The Business Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting department (currently 2.5 FTE).

Because of the current size of PFM UK and the current integration phase, we are looking for an ambitious young, but experienced professional, who is willing and able to grow together with the company.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting

• Reporting on financial performance (monthly, quarterly and yearly) to the Board of Directors;
• Analyze financial developments and advise to improve/grow the business;
• Reporting and analyzing the sales- and project pipelines;
• Make forecasts (yearly budget, latest estimates, rolling forecasts);
• Managing cash flow;
• Prepare yearend close in cooperation with external accountant.

Business

• Advise on project and product margins;
• Advise on project related cash flow management (such as invoicing schemes and timing purchasing/payments);
• Advise operations to optimize inventory and payment terms.

Projects

• Participate in developing business cases for optimizing business model, growing market share and entering new markets;
• Participate in projects to optimize efficiency of processes;
• Participate in ICT-projects such as optimizing ERP-system;
• Participate in group finance projects.

Managerial

• Responsible for managing the accounting department
• Advise on improving administrative processes to optimize efficiency
• Performance review of the accounting department

Experience

• Approximately 3 years as assistant-controller and/or 1 year as business controller
• Proven track record working with ERP-system
• Experience in managing finance department is preferred
• Experience in project-based organization and/or subscription driven business model is preferred

Education

• Degree in finance and accounting.

Other

• Occasionally traveling abroad (The Netherlands, few times a year)

Salary package

• Depending on experience and education and to be discussed in the first meeting (on- or offline)
