"The PFM traffic counter solution gives us the insights to drive our business in the moment, optimize operations and improve store performance."
Maarten Jonges, Marketing Manager ASICS Benelux
The ASICS brand was founded in 1949 under the name ONITSUKA Shokai by Kihachiro Onitsuka and continued in 1977 under the name ASICS. ASICS stands for Anima Sana In Corpore Sano and is a specialist in developing the perfect athletic shoe. Over the years, ASICS has been a pioneer in developing specific sports shoes for running, tennis, volleyball, hockey and many other sports. Based on the idea that "sport" is the universal language, ASICS has grown into a global sport brand with many iconic models in their collection.
Over 10 years ago PFM started the installation of people counting systems in the ASICS stores. At first there was a clear demand for more insight in visitor numbers. These insights support ASICS in their decision making in for example staff planning and instore routing. In addition, it provides insight in conversion per store.
All 75 ASICS stores in Europe are now equipped with PFM counting systems. This includes the newest Flagship store in Rotterdam, which opened its doors on June 6.
The data from the PFM counting systems offer ASICS important insights to make informed decisions in order to improve store performance. For example, they look at the busiest hours to optimise the relationship between customer and staff. This leads to an improvement in turnover. Two years ago PFM linked the data from the people counting systems to a store performance application. Since then data has been available every half hour.
