Data insight company PFM, specialist in providing insight into footfall flows in and around retail destinations, has purchased the Utrecht-based company Wifiprofs B.V. Trading under the name StoreScan, the company has grown into a strong player in the retail analytics market over the past few years. With this acquisition PFM strengthens its market position in the field of footfall analytics and customer behaviour.
StoreScan was founded in 2014 and has a proven track record in translating reliable data into actionable insight. The StoreScan team has built up a broad client portfolio in various sectors. The data they deliver to their clients is used to make shops, locations and buildings, more operationally efficient and safer for the customers they serve.
Bart Schmitz, CEO of the PFM Group commented: "What makes StoreScan unique is the level of detail and precision with which they serve their clients. Reliable insight can only be obtained with good data. Good data can only be created with knowledge of the business. In our industry, this is no easy task and StoreScan has proven that they are capable of delivering complex installations for critical clients. Under the wings of PFM, StoreScan can deliver a broader spectrum of insight and PFM will strengthen the team of professionals to further expand our data vision.”
For StoreScan's customers, this means gaining access to PFM's broad product pallet, while the personal approach of the StoreScan team remains the same. With this acquisition, the turnover of the PFM group grows to €14 million p/a and our systems count more than 12 million footfall movements at home and abroad each and every day.
Founder and Managing Director of StoreScan, Christiaan van Rooijen commented; "I am delighted to be part of PFM. We have taken over a year to get to know each other's vision and company culture. Despite the fact that StoreScan serves great customers and brands, we are a small organisation. Joining forces with PFM opens up a lot of possibilities and allows us to professionalise installation, service and focus on the possibilities of the data. I am looking forward to further developing this interesting and innovative market. There are still many possibilities that our data offers when it comes to making shops, city centres and buildings more sustainable, optimised or more profitable.”
In the coming period StoreScan will operate from both the PFM Head Office in Alphen aan den Rijn and the office in Utrecht. The PFM Experience Centre launched late in 2021 will also be widely deployed to demonstrate the companies' combination of technologies and data-driven solutions at locations across Europe.
